How to Cook the Perfect Steak Every Time 🥩

At Elfab Shop, we believe that cooking a truly magnificent steak shouldn't be a mystery. It's an art, yes, but one that anyone can master with the right techniques and, of course, the finest cuts of meat.

Whether you prefer it rare or well-done, juicy and tender, with a perfect crust, we're here to guide you through the process, from selecting your cut to that glorious first bite.

Your Guide to the Ultimate Steak Experience

1. Choose Your Cut Wisely:

The journey to a perfect steak begins with quality. At Elfab Shop, we offer a range of premium cuts, each with its unique flavour and texture.

Ribeye: Known for its marbling and rich flavour.

Sirloin: A balanced choice, tender with a good bite.

Tenderloin (Fillet): Incredibly tender, a lean and luxurious option.

Wagyu: The pinnacle of steak, offering unparalleled marbling and buttery texture.

2. Prep Like a Pro:

Bring to Room Temperature: Remove your steak from the fridge 30-60 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

Pat Dry: Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the surface of the steak. Moisture hinders that perfect sear!

Season Generously: Don't be shy with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Season right before it hits the pan.

3. The Searing Secret:

Heat is your friend! Get your pan (cast iron is ideal) smoking hot over medium-high heat with a high smoke point oil (like grapeseed or avocado oil).

Sear: Place your steak in the hot pan. Don't move it! Let it sear undisturbed for 2-3 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms.

4. The Flavor Boost (Optional):

For an extra layer of flavour, add a knob of butter, a few sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme, and crushed garlic cloves to the pan during the last minute of searing. Baste the steak with the melted butter.

5. Perfect Doneness (Temperature Guide):

A meat thermometer is your best friend!

Rare: 52-54°C

Medium-Rare: 55-57°C

Medium: 60-63°C

Medium-Well: 65-68°C

Well-Done: 71°C+

Remember: The internal temperature will rise a few degrees during resting.

6. Rest is Best:

This is crucial! Transfer your cooked steak to a cutting board and let it rest for at least 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and flavourful result.

7. Slice and Serve:

Slice against the grain for maximum tenderness, and serve immediately.
