Seared Wagyu Steak with Garlic-Herb Butter Recipe
Prepare to be amazed by the tenderness and flavor of Wagyu beef.
This simple preparation allows the quality of the meat to shine.
Ingredients:
✅1 Wagyu beef steak (ribeye or New York strip are recommended)
✅ 1 tablespoon olive oil
✅ 2 tablespoons butter
✅ 2 cloves garlic, minced
✅ 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
✅ Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Room Temperature is Key: Remove the steak from the refrigerator 30-60 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature. This ensures even cooking.
2. Preheat: Preheat a cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
3. Season: Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
4. Sear: Add the olive oil to the hot pan. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes per side to develop a beautiful crust.
5. Reduce Heat and Add Flavor: Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan. As the butter melts, tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steak to baste it.
6. Cook to Perfection: Continue cooking the steak to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy:
o Rare: 125-130°F (52-54°C)
o Medium-rare: 130-135°F (54-57°C)
o Medium: 135-140°F (57-60°C)
7. Rest: Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and flavorful result.
8. Serve: Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides. Mashed potatoes and asparagus are classic pairings.
Enjoy!
