RECIPE ALERT: Salmon Rice Bowls with Spicy Mayo
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
• For the Salmon:
✅4 (4-6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on or skinless
✅1 tablespoon olive oil
✅1/2 teaspoon salt
✅ 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• For the Spicy Mayo:
✅1/4 cup mayonnaise
✅ 2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
✅1 tablespoon lime juice
• For the Bowls:
✅4 cups cooked white or brown rice
✅1 avocado, sliced or diced
✅1 cucumber, thinly sliced
✅1/2 cup shredded carrots
✅1/4 cup chopped cilantro
✅Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
▶ Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with salt and pepper.
▶ Cook the Salmon: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on) and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and flaky.
▶ Make the Spicy Mayo: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice. Adjust the sriracha to your desired level of spiciness.
▶ Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the cooked salmon, avocado slices, cucumber, shredded carrots, and chopped cilantro.
▶ Serve: Drizzle the spicy mayo over each bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Enjoy!
Useful Tips:
▶ You can bake or grill the salmon instead of pan-frying it.
▶Add other vegetables to the bowls, such as edamame, shredded cabbage, or chopped bell peppers.
▶For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in soy sauce, ginger, and garlic before cooking.
▶ Top with additional toppings like pickled ginger, sriracha, or a sprinkle of furikake seasoning.
